About us

Your local scaffolding specialists

Alpine UK Scaffolding is an independent, family-run contractor working from a yard on Brunel Road in Stevenage — across Hertfordshire, into Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.

Scaffolding goes wrong when nobody takes responsibility for it: the survey is rushed, the design is a guess, and the scaffold sits on a drive for a month after the roofer has finished. A firm this size cannot afford to work that way — the same team surveys the job, designs it, puts it up, inspects it and takes it down.

  • Independently assessed against the health and safety standard main contractors and councils check before letting anyone on site.

  • An independent firm working from its own yard, not a franchise or a subcontracted crew — the people who survey the job are the people who build it.

  • Two decades in the trade behind the business, across everything from a chimney on a semi to a sheeted frontage on a visitor attraction.

  • One price covering erection, the hire period and the dismantle, agreed before anything arrives on site. No day-rate surprises once it is up.

What we do

Scaffolding for every kind of job

Eight services, one crew. Whatever the access problem is, it is the same team surveying it, designing it and putting it up — from a chimney in Stevenage to a sheeted frontage on a trading estate.

Domestic scaffolding

Access for work on houses, bungalows and flats — put up around your home with the drive, the borders and the neighbours in mind, and taken down the moment the job is finished. Erected around gardens, conservatories and drives with care, and struck the day the trades finish — not a week later. Commercial scaffolding

Scaffolding for shops, offices, schools and sites that have to keep running while the work goes on. Planned around your opening hours, your footfall and your other contractors. We plan around opening hours and footfall, keep walkways protected, and coordinate with your other contractors so the programme holds. Industrial scaffolding

Heavier-duty access for warehouses, plant and industrial units, designed around load, height and the plant that still has to move underneath it. Designed for load and height, and for the plant, racking and traffic that still has to move underneath while the work goes on. Warehouses & unitsPlant maintenanceSteel framesLong-term hire Read more

Temporary roofs scaffolding

A weatherproof roof over the whole structure, so a re-roof, a loft conversion or fire and flood repairs can carry on whatever the forecast does. Sheeted or system temporary roofs that keep the building dry and the programme moving through winter weather. Re-roofsLoft conversionsFire & flood repairsListed roof works Read more

System & stairs scaffolding

Modular HAKI system scaffolding and public-access staircases, for sites that need access up quickly, repeatably and to a consistent standard. Modular components go up and come down fast, and HAKI staircases give trades and the public a proper stair rather than a ladder. Cladding scaffolding

Scaffold cladding, sheeting and shrink-wrap that keep weather, dust and debris where they belong — and keep a working site looking tidy from the street. Monarflex sheeting, debris netting and shrink-wrap, fixed to a scaffold designed to carry the wind load it creates. Full wrap & sheetingDebris nettingDust containmentBranded screens Read more

Specialist scaffolding

The awkward ones. Where a standard frame will not fit or will not do, we design the access around the building instead of forcing the building to suit the scaffold. Cantilevers, bridges, restricted access and public walkways — designed for the building rather than lifted off a standard drawing. Restoration scaffolding

Why Alpine

Why clients trust Alpine Scaffolding

Six things we hold ourselves to on every job, whether it is a chimney on a semi or a frontage on a trading estate.

Independently assessed

CHAS accredited against the health and safety standard main contractors and councils check before letting anyone on site — alongside Constructionline Gold and Once For All.

  1. Safety comes first, not second

Every scaffold is put up to be worked from safely — properly tied, properly boarded, properly signed off. It is the part of the job we will not rush for anyone.

  2. An experienced, qualified team

20 years of scaffolding experience behind the business, and the crew on your job is the crew we trained.

  3. Built for your building

No two properties are the same. We design the access around the shape of the building, the ground it stands on and the trades who need to use it.

  4. We turn up when we say we will

Erected on the agreed date and struck as soon as you are finished with it, so nobody is waiting on scaffolding to start or stuck with it once they are done.

  5. One firm for the whole job

Domestic, commercial, industrial, specialist and restoration — the same team handles all of it, so you are not chasing three different companies.

  6. A clear price, up front

A written quote that says what you are getting and what it costs, including how long the hire runs for. No day-rate surprises once the scaffold is up.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

No surprises in the middle. This is how every Alpine job runs, from the first phone call to the wagon pulling off your street.

  1. Enquiry

Call, WhatsApp or send the form. Tell us what the work is, where it is and roughly when you need access — that is enough for us to know what we are looking at.

  2. Site survey

We come and look at the job. Ground conditions, height, ties, pavement, access for the wagon. You get a written quote based on what is actually there, not a guess from a photo.

  3. Install

The crew erects the scaffold on the agreed date, ties and boards it out, and hands it over to you signed off and ready for your trades to work from.

  4. Dismantle

When the work is done, tell us and we strike it — cleared off site and off your drive, without you having to chase us for it.

We recently used Alpine Scaffolding and couldn’t be happier with the service. From the initial contact with Ben, the entire process including the survey, quote, and installation, was incredibly straightforward. Ben, Jordan, and their team are absolute professionals. They all worked together like a well-oiled machine and they even checked some finer details with us to ensure access etc was as we needed it. The resulting scaffolding is substantial, very safe and secure. Beyond the technical skill, they are a polite, respectful and trustworthy team - exactly what you want when people are working on your home. Save yourself the aggro of chasing other firms; Alpine are competitive, reliable, and they provide a brilliant service

Extremely impressed with Alpine Scaffolding, we were scaffolding novices but Ben talked through everything with us, his team arrived on time and they completed the job efficiently with no issues at all, even our renderer commented on how well it was all set-up for them. If we do need scaffolding again at any point, we will only be contacting Alpine

Absolute gents, such nice guys and absolutely professional. They did a fantastic job on, what looked to me, like a complicated house to scaffold and cleaned the site up beautifully when they took it all down. I really cannot fault them, thank you very much.
